    “SKIF-XXIII” Sergei KURYOKHIN International Festival
    “SKIF” has been held since 1998 and each time it opens up new names in modern and progressive music, introducing young St. Petersburg and Russian performers to the public. The concept of the festival is mostly based on the ideas of Sergei Kuryokhin’s project “Pop Mechanics”. From the very beginning of its existence, the festival strives to match the unique synthetic format of the project, combining music of all genres and styles, as well as dance, theater, performance, film, visual and multimedia art. This year, the festival’s guests will be the legendary Italian prog rock band Goblin led by Claudio Simonetti, British cult artist, poet, musician and puppeteer Ted Milton and his group Blurt, German duet Сeeys, singer Laura Naukkarinen from Finland, Lithuanian trio Timid Kooky. The Russian scene will be presented by young, but already quite noticeable avant-garde bands from Moscow.

Among them Yuri Temirkanov, Charles Dutoit, Nikolai Lugansky, Igor Levit, Eliso Virsaladze, Sergei Krylov, and “The King’s Singers” vocal ensemble, who will perform in St. Petersburg as part of a world tour dedicated to the fiftieth anniversary of the collective. Musical programs of the festival will make up a very valuable and diverse collection, worthy of the most discerning listeners.

    For nigh on four centuries the image of Don Quixote has inspired the authors to create new works of art, and the concept of “quixotism" is familiar to everyone. The project was initiated by the Young Artists’ Museum and Association. The idea of traveling inside an imaginary world will be reflected in the exhibition-drift format, which creates unexpected situations in the museum space, where the guests can be involved in the creation of a work or observe what is happening.

    Festival of Regional Cultures of Japan
    Festival of Regional Cultures of Japan
    The festival will be held as part of the Russia-Japan Year Cross and will introduce Petersburg residents to the culture of seven regions of Japan: Hokkaido, Gifu and Okinawa Prefectures, Osaka, Yokohama, Sakata, Fukuoka and Kanazawa. In the program: cultural and tourist fair; a concert of the vocal-instrumental ensemble, the repertoire of which organically combines the music of Ryukyu, Yamato, Asia and Jazz Pop; master classes on making ikebana, origami, putting on kimono; tasting of national Japanese dishes and other events. The business community of the city will be presented with opportunities to develop cooperation with the country, which occupies the third place in the ranking of world economic powers.

    “BEAUTIFUL EASTER” International Easter Children’s Choir Festival
    The main mission of the project is the revival of Russian Orthodox traditions of choral singing, the development of children's and youthful choral creativity, support for beginners and little-known collectives, young choirmasters and teachers. The best children's and youth choirs of general educational, musical and Sunday church schools take part in the concerts of the festival. In their performance, spiritual and Easter chants, masterpieces of Russian sacred music are heard in the cathedrals of St. Petersburg. Within the framework of the Festival, an exhibition of a unique private collection of Orthodox values is held in the temple of the martyr Andrei Kritsky.
