    "BRAVO" International Arts Festival
    The festival will bring together dance and music groups from Africa, America, India, China, Greece, Cuba, Georgia, Ireland, Italy, Spain and Russia on the banks of the Neva. Petersburg residents and guests of the city will be able to take part in master classes in painting, Latin American and Indian dances, learn lindy-hop, and also get acquainted with Qigong breathing exercises.

    TRANSLATION OF THE RELICS OF ST. ALEXANDER NEVSKY
    The Day of the Translation of the Relics of St. Alexander Nevsky from Vladimir to St. Petersburg is celebrated on September 12. Alexander Nevsky is remembered as a talented commander, considerable diplomatist, wise and strong ruler, defended the Russian land from foreign invaders. On this day, the liturgy in the cathedrals of the city and the procession along the Nevsky Prospect are held. The program of events also includes exhibitions, readings and concerts of Russian sacred music. The Government of St. Petersburg will present the Alexander Nevsky Award “For Strengthening National Unity and Preserving the Cultural and Historical Heritage”, which is timed to the holiday.

    In 2019 we celebrate the 80th anniversary of birth and 20 years from death of the composer, folklorist and music historian Valeriy Gavrilin (1939-1999). The exhibition will feature original exhibits from the museum's collections such as documents, government awards, posters of the Gavrilin festivals in Vologda, signed note patterns, memorial items, video fragments of the author's evenings, ballets, movies the composer wrote music to.

    "THIRTY-THREE SOUNDS" Project
    "THIRTY-THREE SOUNDS" Project
    "The Thirty Three Sounds" project is a catalog of the most significant Petersburg sound phenomena: from a horn orchestra to graphic sound, from a shot of the cruiser "Aurora" to Shostakovich’s opera "Nose", from the invention of the radio to noise experiments of the nineties. The sounding letters of this alphabet become words in the language of sound art, the sound art of our day. "The Thirty Three Sounds" Pavilion includes exhibition spaces and a stage for concerts that will take place every weekend. The festival program includes the opening of the installation “Thirty Three Sounds: The ABC of the St. Petersburg experiment” on the square near the western facade of the Manege, a concert of the Russian Horn Chapel, a performance by composer Alexander Senko and a sound installation by Oleg Makarov.

    The science fiction festival is dedicated to the work of the Polish writer, philosopher and futurologist Stanislav Lem. He became a classic on a global scale during his lifetime. His books have been translated into 41 languages, and their total circulation is about 30 million copies. The author of the fundamental philosophical work “The Sum of Technology” - Stanislav Lem anticipated the creation of virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and also developed the ideas of human auto-evolution and the creation of artificial worlds. The festival program includes exhibitions, lectures and master classes.

    12th Elena OBRAZTSOVA International Contest of Young Opera Singers
    The competition will be one of the main events celebrating the 80th anniversary of the day the birth of the great Russian singer Elena Obraztsova. The 20th anniversary will be celebrated by the forum itself, which was first held in St. Petersburg in September 1999. The competition is one of the world's largest vocal shows, being a full member of the Association of Russian Music Competitions and a member of the World Federation of Music Competitions. Over the years, Yulia Lezhneva, Ildar Abdrazakov, Dinara Aliyeva, Mikhail Petrenko and other famous vocalists who make up the glory of the national and world opera stage became laureates and prize-winners of the competition.

    “THE RULER OF THE ORCHESTRA. BY THE 150TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CONDUCTOR AND COMPOSER EDUARD NAPRAVNIK”
    The 2019 celebrates the 180th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Russian conductor E. Napravnik and the 150th anniversary of the beginning of his work as the chief conductor of the Mariinskiy Theater. The years Napravnik served the theater mark a whole epoch in the history of the Mariinskiy Theater, when the orchestra reached a true heyday and became one of the best orchestras in the world. The Saint Petersburg Museum of Theater and Music holds a rich collection of exhibits representing the conductor's fruitful activities: life painted and sculptural portrait of Napravnik, his personal belongings, conductor's sticks; a cast model of his hand; sketches of the scenery and costumes for the productions performed by Napravnik, and for his own opera productions; as well as costumes, models, posters and programs, photographs.
