    "RUSSIA IN THE ELECTRONIC WORLD" 11th Annual Interactive Olympiad
    The interactive Olympiad "Russia in the Electronic World" for students of educational institutions has been held since 2010. During the existence of the project, more than 45,000 people have taken part in it, many of whom later entered the most prestigious Russian universities. Schoolchildren in grades 10-11, as well as students of institutions of secondary vocational education in Russia and foreign countries can register on the website of the interactive educational project and test their knowledge of the Russian language, history and social studies. The Olympiad includes three stages, two of which are remote. Registration and completion of tasks of the first stage will be available until November 30, 2020 inclusive.

    The festival is held with the aim of developing the creative potential of people with disabilities through the visual arts. The Tsarskoye Selo Opening Day is traditionally timed to coincide with anniversary dates. The theme for 2020 is Victory Spring. The festival will include workshops, plein airs, excursions, exhibitions of artworks by project participants. Some events will be available online.

    "WELCOME TO SAINT-P" Festival for Freshmen
    The main goal of the festival is to adapt nonresident students to the conditions of the megalopolis, familiarize them with the history and culture of St. Petersburg, its attractions, understand and assess the city's capabilities in realizing itself and its potential. Within the framework of the festival, an excursion quest was prepared for first-year students in order to get acquainted with significant historical, cultural, sports, economic objects of St. Petersburg and an educational block with the participation of experts in popular areas among young people. October 5 MDT - Theater of Europe will show the play "Uncle Vanya" based on Chekhov's play especially for nonresident students.

    "DAY AT HOME" Annual Promotion
    The annual action dedicated to the historical and cultural heritage of St. Petersburg has been initiated by the Golitsyn Library since 2014 and is timed to coincide with the International Day of European Cultural Heritage, which is celebrated in September. More than 50 libraries and museums will take part in the "Day of the House - 2020" campaign. The program includes 117 events, including lectures on the mansions of the historical center, excursions (real and virtual) to little-known parts of the city, stories about the history of mansions and tenement houses, about the life of wonderful people.

    7th Icebreakers Festival
    A new tradition in St. Petersburg, the annual marine festival is dedicated to the development of the Arctic, the Russian icebreaker fleet and Polar professions. The guests of the festival will be able to see the unique dance of self-propelled ships, which has already become the hallmark of the event, visit the decks of Arctic ships, as well as attend concerts, lectures, film screenings and other events. The festival will end with an enchanting show based on the work of the writer Alexander Green "Running on the waves".

    “COSSACK FORCE” 10th Russian Festival-Competition
    The anniversary Russia-Wide festival-competition "Cossack Outpost" is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. Over 10 years, the project brought together more than 5,000 participants, including folklore ensembles and soloists, children's and youth choirs, vocal and choreographic groups, musical instrument performers, readers and students of arts and crafts studios from different regions of the Russian Federation. The main goal of the festival is the patriotic education, civic and spiritual formation of the younger generation on the basis of preserving historical memory, respect for the history and culture of Russia, traditions and customs of the Cossacks and peoples living in our country.

    The famous film-director Alexander Sokurov has created a multimedia installation inspired by Rembrandt’s painting The Return of the Prodigal Son in the Hermitage. The project “Lk 15, 11–32” combines video pieces, sculpture, painting and music. The exhibition in the Hermitage is founded upon the artistic conception of the installation presented in the Russian Pavilion at the 58th Venice Biennale of Contemporary Art in 2019. The display in the White Hall will, however, be an expanded and modified version of the Venetian project.
