    The winners of the St. Petersburg Highest Theater Award ”Golden Sofit - 2020” will be determined by secret ballot on the eve of the awards ceremony, which will be held on October 26, 2020 at the Bryantsev Theater of Young Spectators. Special prize of the nomination council “For the most vivid impression of the past season” will be awarded to the play “Our Class” (director - Daria Shamina, director of the production - Veniamin Filshtinsky). Prizes of the nomination council will be awarded to Boris Eifman - for the creation of a unique educational complex ”Boris Eifman Dance Academy and the Children's Dance Theater”; to the creative team of the Tovstonogov Bolshoy Drama Theater - for the successful implementation of projects in the virtual space "BDT digital" and Kovaleva Lyudmila Valentinovna, professor, teacher-tutor of the Vaganova Russian Ballet Academy - for her invaluable contribution to the development of ballet art.

    "DIAGHILEV P.S.” 11th International Arts Festival
    Festival dedicated to the great impresario of the 20th century Sergei Diaghilev, traditionally presents the most iconic and innovative productions performed by outstanding masters of contemporary ballet. The 2020 season will be opened by the MODANSE program of the Bolshoi Theater prima ballerina, People's Artist of the Russian Federation Svetlana Zakharova. On the stage of the Alexandrinsky Theater will be presented two one-act ballets - "Like Breath" and "Gabrielle Chanel". The main event of the festival will be a large-scale international exhibition of portraits “In Diaghilev's Circle. Intersection of Fates ”dedicated to the creative path of Sergei Pavlovich Diaghilev and his contribution to the development of world ballet. The festival program will be complemented by a round table "Sergei Diaghilev and the Artistic World of Europe", which will be attended by journalists, researchers, writers from Russia and Europe.

    Aspiring Playwrights and Amateur Authors City Competition within the "Recorder" Project
    The city competition for aspiring playwrights and amateur authors opens a new project "Recorder" dedicated to contemporary art. It is the interaction of literature, theater and radio, as well as diverse cultural trends and communication platforms, creating a unique environment in which art gets its voice. Authors from St. Petersburg at least 16 years old, writing in Russian, can take part in the competition for aspiring playwrights. Better, the work will become the basis for a radio performance, which will be presented on the air of Radio Russia - St. Petersburg, as well as in the form of a printed art book with author's illustrations by young artists.

    “MARITIME SEA STATEPOWER: IVAN KRUSENSTERN AND THE IMAGE OF “RUSSIAN AS A GLOBAL MARITIME POWERSTATE”
    Exhibition is devoted to the 250th birthday Ivan (Adam Johann von) Krusenstern who was of the leader of the first Russian circumnavigation of the globe. He also was a creator of the program of Russian circumnavigations, author of the fundamental “Atlas of the Southern Sea”, curator of the Naval museum’s library, director of the Russian naval school. Krusenstern did a lot for the progress of Russian science and raised a pleiad of eminent circumnavigators who made Russia a real maritime state.

    “CONTEXT. DIANA VISHNEVA” 8th International Festival of Contemporary Choreography
    The festival introduces Russian audiences to the best achievements of modern dance art. The main mission of the project is the development of Russian contemporary choreography and its integration into the world context. Within the framework of the festival in St. Petersburg, for the first time, two one-act ballets by the choreographer, winner of the Golden Mask award, Alexei Miroshnichenko, staged at the Perm Opera and Ballet Theater will be shown: "The Jester" based on the fairy tales of the Perm province in recreated scenery and costumes based on sketches by the artist Mikhail Larionov and "Scheherazade" - a ballet to the music of N. Rimsky-Korsakov's symphonic suite. Diana Vishneva will perform the main part in the ballet Scheherazade. The festival will open with an Evening of Young Russian Choreographers, which will feature the works of the five finalists of the competition and the work of the 2019 winner.
