Plywood theater is a dedication to artists who have worked at the Bolshoy Drama Theater since its inception. This is a theater inside the theater, a game with space, going beyond the borders of the so-called “common sense”. The central event of the second season will be a festival dedicated to the outstanding director and theorist of the theater Anatoly Vasiliev. The program includes the St. Petersburg premiere of the play “The Old Man and the Sea”, a creative meeting with Anatoly Vasiliev and the screening of the film “Donkey”, a concert and presentation of the book by composer Vladimir Martynov. At the end of the Anatoly Vasiliev festival, the Plywood Theater will host screenings of the performances of the Moscow Shadow Theater. St. Petersburg audience will also be able to see two premieres from the repertoire of the Plywood Theater last season.
